All About my interest

Walt: to draw a visual mihi

Our learning goals

Our aims for learning in inquiry  this term are outlined in the following 2 statements:

Understand how people pass on and sustain culture and heritage for different reasons and that this has consequences for people.
Describe how social messages and stereotypes, include my interesting those in the media, can affect feelings of self-worth.

Task description: for this task we had to create our own visual mihi. The picture in each 1/4 represents each thing I love and most enjoy. My visual mihi covers my culture which is cook island. I also love Jesus and God and most importantly my family. For Pt England School I have been chosen by the staff and intermediate student, to be a house Captain. A House Captain is like a Prefect. I also love sports so I put sports in the house captain 1/4 because, the house captain is also a school sports leader. I really like all the sports, so I dont have any favourites.

Explanation/The perfect Role Model - Practice Test

WALT: We are learning about the different parts of an 'Explanation'.

Are you a good role model? Do you want to be a good role model? Well I think this explanation is the best thing for you. In the next 4 - 5 paragraphs, I will explain to you and give you examples, on how to be a good role model. I promise you after you finish reading this explanation, you will be the best role model ever!

Taking Leadership is one of the main roles to being a good role model. This means to develop your leadership chops and lead the way. For example: respecting the chain of command will help set an example for everyone around you. This will help you become a good role model.

Responsibility is also one role to being a good role model. Responsibility means to do the right thing, even though no one's looking. Also being accountable and trustworthy is a big part of being responsibility. For example: when your parents, caregivers and teacher are not supervising at anytime you should take responsibility and keep doing the right thing, instead of doing the opposite.

Having Humility and Willingness to admit mistakes is also what a good role model will do.
Even though they have made a bad mistake they will still own up to it and take the blame.
For example: if you were mean and bullied someone and the teacher heard about it, the best
thing to do is own up and say you started it.

Carrying on from the last paragraph being Kind  is also one of the roles to being a good role
model. This means to do the opposite of bullying and be kind to your friends, family members
and your surroundings. For example: if someone is get bullied the best thing that you could
do is help the target out and stop the bully from bullying.

Well there you have it - 4 ideas on how to be a good role model. As i said before after you finish
reading this explanation you will be the best role model ever.

Task description: For this task we had to write an explanation about how to be a good role model. We also use a strategy to help us writing the explanation.

First Literacy Lesson

WALT: We are learning to work collaboratively as we carry out various reading tasks

Image result for paul jennings short storiesToday in Room 3 Literacy class, Mrs Tele'a read us one of the short stories from the book Unreal. The short story was called Lighthouse Blue.I found the book really intersecting until Mrs Tele'a said to predicate what Chapter 3 was going to be about. Here is what I predicated about Chapter 3: I then feel a funny feeling from just staring at the 2 graves. “ Well we should go home now. The wind is starting to get stronger and stronger” Stan said. Both Stan and Anton make there way back home . As we walk home I was trying to get ‘Alan Rickard’ out of my head. I tried and tried, but I just couldn't get it out. Finally it popped in my head. “ Hey Stan”, “Yeah”, “About Alan Rickard. How did he past away?”

Task Description: For this task we had to listen to the story that Mrs Tele'a read to us. After she read the chapters 1 and 2, we had to predicate what was going to happen in chapter 3.
