Making Pizza @ Tamaki Tech!!!

Today @ Tech we made Pizza. This week my partner was Makayla. Our Pizza had many toppings on it. Those ingredients were tomato sauce, cheese, ham, capsicum, tomato, red onion and Pizza bread. First we diced all the vegetables and fruit (pineapple,
tomatoes, capsicum and the red onion) as well as the ham. After that we spread the tomato sauce around the base of the pizza, then added all the toppings onto the pizza. After we added all our toppings we put our pizza in the oven for 15 mins. After that we took it out of the oven. After a few minutes of cooling down the pizza was ready to eat.

Chicken Curry!!!

Last Tuesday @ Tamaki Tech we made Chicken Curry. The ingredients we used were:
- Chicken
- Spices (Turmeric,garlic, curry, ginger)
- Onions
- Vegetables
- Potatoes
First we diced the chicken and onion then cooked them both in oil. Then we added the spices in and also put the potatoes on at the same time. After we combine the spices with the chicken and onions we added 1 1/2 cups of water in the pan with the vegetables. We then added the potatoes when they were cooked and then dished it into a plate.

7 Life Processes

Task description: For this task we had to write a rap/song/description or make a poster about  MRS GREN. If you don't know what that is, it stands for Movement, Respiration, Sense, Growth, Reproduction, Evolution and Nutrition. Scientist use the method to research and check to see if something is living or not. If that something does't show signs of any of MRS GREN then it is nonliving, if it does show then it exists as a living thing

Spray it... or not?

Task description: For this week's task we read a article about, Painted Apple Moth. This species of insects is a pest to NZ and is tourching our native bushes. The moths comes form Australia and is coursing a lot of damage to our forest bushes.

In the article we read it told us that NZ have started spraying around a spray called anti - PAM ( PAM stands for Painted Apple Moth )  that will help get rid of and extinguish the PAM from NZ. But.. some people are saying its not a good idea because it does have the  disgusting and unpleasant smell to it . People also think it's not a good idea becasue if the mixer is not prepare probably it could do harm to everyone.

So do you think still spraying the anti - PAM spray is a good idea?
Tell me what you think in the comment section. THANK YOU! ; )

Immersion Assembly - T3 2019

Walt: write a recount

Have you ever wondered what your topic for term 3 was? Well here is my recount about our amazing start to Term 3. ‘ Something In The Water ’.

Entering Assembly
Hearing the funky music and sniffing up a familiar smell made me wonder? If this term’s topic is something in the water does that mean SEAFOOD! Surely enough our Senior Management Team were cooking up a storm of seafood on the Barbeque grillers. As we walk in and take a seat, my stomach starts to growl. “ I need seafood, I need seafood, cos I love seafood ”.

Introduction
Thinking about what each team had planned for there students, made me excited. I couldn't wait the hear and see what each team will be doing this term. Especially team 5.

Team 1,3 and 4 - Movies
The first movie was shared but the Team 1 Teachers (aka: The S.O.F.A Team = Solutions for Animals) There movie was mostly targeted at the Year 1 students. The movie contained phone calls, underwater exploring and helping endangered animals. The S.O.F.A Team set on a quest the find out more about the sea life creatures and then study them. But they needed our help to help them solve the mystery?

Our next movie was put together by our Team 3 Teachers. This movie was aimed mostly at the Year 3 and 4’s, but also everyone else. In the movie the group of Team 3 Teacher's + Miss Ramona created include, all sorts of sea life creature and a Miss Romona. Their movie shows Miss Ramona ask a bunch of sea life creatures, such as eels, stingrays, sharks, and dolphins. Miss Ramona set on a quest to find the perfect buddy to pair up with the help keep all sea creatures happy and safe. Lucky she found the ideal sea creature, to help protect our moana and awa’s.

Our next movie was shared  from the Team 4 Teachers. There movie was all about chain that goes on in the sea. First it starts off with spotting a plankton. The plankton gets eaten by the mussel, the mussel gets eaten by the crab, then the crab gets eaten by a seagull and the human eats the seagull. But...what do you think ate the human… If you guessed SHARK then you are right.

Favourites
If you are wondering why I didn’t explain what Team 2 and 5’s act/movie was about is, because they were my 2 favourite teams. Team 2’s movie shared all the teachers at the Tahuna Torea Reserve, exploring the bush and rocky shores. They also got to feed the ducks that were in the small pond that is about 5-6 metres away from Wai O Taiki Bay. The funniest parts were all one Miss Moran. First she complains about going all the way to Tahuna Torea Reserve and then says she needed a scooter. At the very end of the video Miss Moran asks Mrs Carter for her phone to call UBER to KFC.

My next highlight was Team 5’s awesome act/song. The shared a song that talked about what’s in a Cell. It Starts off with Cell then, Nucleus in the Cell, the Chromosomes in the Nucleus that’s in the Cell, then DNA that’s in the Chromosomes that’s in the Nucleus that lives in a Cell. The Gene that’s in the DNA that lives in the Chromosomes that’s in the Nucleus that lives in the Cell. At the every end they say “ How are all living things connected? ”.

Overall I thought every team had created amazing videos and performances. I am really looking forward to this Term 3’s topic. I also hope we get to eat more seafood later on this term. ‘SOMETHING IN THE WATER!’.

For Polyfest I had the privilege to have the wonderful Whaea Kelly. The first thing we did when we got to Polyfest, was super fun activities. The activities were hosted be Blue Light, Ministry of Education, Westfield, SUPA, Vaimatina and Sport Waitakere. Each activity took 10 minutes. I think SUPA was my favourite activity, because they taught us to do a mix culture dance.

After that we got to rome around the ASB Polyfest ground and visit different Stage do more activities and many more. Around 1:30 or 1:25 we started to head back to the entrance to get ready to head back to school on the buses. I got to say it was the best Polyfest ever!
